- Is this an emergency service?
- No, and it must not be treated as one. SOS-WA notifies people you have chosen. If your life is in danger, call 112 or your local emergency number first — then press the button so the people who love you know.
- Why is an alert limited to 1 a month on free?
- Every alert reaches people who never opted into anything, sent from a number shared by all customers. A low ceiling is what keeps that number trusted by WhatsApp. Plus allows 1 alert a day. Pro allows 40, because the people on it answer for a whole group rather than for themselves.
- What do my contacts see?
- A short message saying you have raised an alert, may be unreachable on your usual number, plus anything you added and your own number. Nothing is sent to them at any other time.
- Do my contacts need an account?
- No. They just receive a message on WhatsApp or Signal, from a number they can reply to.
- Can I cancel?
- Any time, from the billing page, in two clicks. You keep the plan until the end of the period you already paid for, then drop to free — your contacts stay, above the free limit they simply become read-only.
